WOODSHOP

Are you interested in making things out of wood? Maybe you want to mock up a quick product model or try your hand at creating custom furniture.

Modern woodworking skills and tools have developed over centuries as a practical way to pursue a wide variety of projects at various scales from furniture to architecture. Whether you are building structures or products, the ability to successfully operate basic woodworking equipment correctly and safely is an invaluable addition to your skillset.

Our woodshop is located in a mixed use area and geared toward prototyping and fabrication. If you want to make fine furniture, this is a great place to experiment with techniques, get up to speed, or explore cnc technology, but note that you will probably want to do your finish project in a dedicated woodshop.

Our woodshop offers a good basic complement of Woodshop tools.

01 Get Cleared
To use equipment in the woodshop you will need to take an Orientation or pass a Checkout. If you are new to woodshop equipment please join us for one of our upcoming orientations. Note that our general Woodshop Orientation covers everything we support, but the Table Saw and Wood Lathe both require separate dedicated orientations to gain access privileges.

If you already have significant experience with woodworking equipment, schedule a Checkout and get right to work. Use the button below to let us know what you are interested in and we’ll work to get you checked out on supported equipment as quickly as possible. The woodshop checkout typically takes about 20 minutes. We’ll share our shop safety requirements, you can show us what you know, and then you can get right to work. Note that restrictions will remain on any equipment you do not have experience with.

02 Settle Up
Access to the Woodshop is complementary for members. Look into our membership options.

You can also book time in the Woodshop with a hourly Cover Charge.

Cover Charge

Woodshop equipment is first come, first served. Typically there is plenty of room for you to work. Note that currently you will need to bring your own materials and they must be in new condition. No reclaimed or pre-used wood. Please check ahead of time if you have any questions.

If you want to embrace cutting edge woodworking technology we also support a computer-controlled CNC Router. Please note that our Woodshop Orientation does not cover our CNC Router. This equipment requires a separate dedicated orientation.

Our SawStop Table Saw and Jet Wood Lathe are also covered under separate orientations.
