FLIGHT CLUB | Search & Rescue | JAN 23
NEXT MEETUP Thursday, January 23
6.00p to 8.00p
$0/person
Interested in UAVs and drone technology but not sure where to start? Join us as Flight Club gets off the ground.
Flight Club is a meetup devoted to the future of flight and learning together. Our meetup events include time for Show & Tell of your projects as well as ongoing exploration of upcoming classes, projects, and events. There will be time for discussion about your goals for moving forward. We expect our initial projects to include group builds of inexpensive flight ready fixed wing aircraft and/or multirotor drones as well as build days to work on your individual projects in a collaborative setting. When the weather improves look forward to flight events where we’ll get out of the shop and into the sky … followed by fix-it clinics to put your drones back together.
Over time you will gain the knowledge to step up to increasingly demanding builds. We’ll support you with access to equipment and supplies as well as the growing knowledge you need to push forward.
Bring your questions and be prepared for an informative experience as we dive into the future together. Note that, eventually, our intent is to offer FLIGHT CLUB memberships. We are currently offering meetups at no charge.

HOST // David Voetmann
David, a lifelong designer and maker, spent his childhood in Africa. This formative experience instilled a conviction that it’s better to create your own solutions than to wait around hoping someone else will solve your problems. To this end, he earned a BFA in Industrial Design at the University of Washington. This study deepened an enduring conviction that solving problems and making things is deeply coded into our humanity. Over the last few years he has explored the transformation of our economy as new technologies democratize opportunity. He now runs The Facility Makerspace where ordinary people with extraordinary ideas gain access to an 11,000sf sandbox for innovation with all the tools, training, and community you need to turn thoughts into things.
